Selling products alongside memberships
Offer one-off digital or physical products via Stripe or an external link.
Memberships are the core of nowyouseeme, but you can also sell one-off products to your community without leaving your profile.
Digital products. Anything that can be delivered as a file (a PDF guide, a sample pack, a preset, an art print download, an album) can be sold as a one-off purchase processed by Stripe. Buyers are charged through your connected Stripe account and the file is unlocked for them after payment. The same 6% platform fee and Stripe processing fees apply (see Creator fees).
Physical products. For merch, prints, vinyl or anything that needs to be shipped, you can either:
- take orders through Stripe and fulfil them yourself; or
- link out to your existing store (Shopify, Bandcamp, Big Cartel, Etsy, your own site, etc.) using an external product link on your profile.
When you use an external link, the payment, shipping and customer support all happen on the other platform — nowyouseeme just lists the product and sends people through.
Why this matters. Memberships work best when Members feel they get continuous value. Products are great for the people who want one specific thing from you (a finished album, a course, a piece of merch) without committing to a recurring subscription. The two complement each other.
Tax and merchant of record. For products sold through your Stripe account, the same rules apply as for memberships: you are the merchant of record. See Merchant of record, taxes and thresholds for details.
